Saanich Peninsula Moonlight Beach Photoadventure Spectacular
As long time viewers will know by now, when I get to Vancouver Island it’s only a matter of time before either Karsten, or Nicole, or Karsten AND Nicole, join me for a photoadventure somewhere. This night is no exception as Karsten texts me once they pull up out front of the apartment. Time to grab my camera bag, thermos, and guampa. Let’s see where we get to!

From the boat ramp we look east over the San Juan Islands to the mainland of Washington State and Mount Baker. That isn’t our only discovery however, as there are a flounder and a half on the base of the ramp as well!
![Found Flounder Upon closer inspection we noticed that the flounder was still trying to breath and move around so I pushed it back into the water to see if it would swim away.](https://i0.wp.com/jordanoram.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Saanich-Moonlight-wp-5.jpg?resize=640%2C428)

![I prefer my fish with a side of chips The best theory on the flounder and a half is that an otter or seal had caught them and was eating them when it got scared off the shore, leaving them behind.](https://i0.wp.com/jordanoram.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Saanich-Moonlight-wp-6.jpg?resize=640%2C428)

Patricia Bay, Vancouver Island, British Columbia
Having driven further north, and cutting west across the peninsula by the Victoria International Airport, we now find ourselves at Patricia Bay looking across at the main island, the full moon, and approaching clouds.
It has been a short number of days on Vancouver Island for my annual spring visit. I managed to fit in a few adventures and catch up with a number of friends, but there’s never enough time for the breadth and depth of what this island has to offer in stories, vistas, and wonderful people.
Next up is the weekend in Vancouver (with the monthly Drink & Click Vancouver event on Saturday) before I find a way out to Abbotsford, then beyond to Hope, before going to Chilliwack and looping back towards the sea again. This is my annual Spring migration. Perhaps I’ll see you along the way 🙂
