A Morning by the Gate of Harmonious Interest
Chinatown, Victoria, British Columbia

Fun fact: For two years I worked two doors down the road to the left at Silk Road.

Spring in Chinatown – Victoria, British Columbia

I woke up on the futon to the sound of my Dad typing away on the computer across from me in the living room. We shared this small apartment for the 2.5 years I lived in Victoria while I was going to college to become a Registered Massage Therapist. This means that when he says ‘QVs’ over his shoulder I know it’s an invitation to a breakfast and good conversation sitting at QV Cafe & Bakery facing the Gate of Harmonious Interest in Chinatown. Because QVs is one of the cheapest and yummiest places in town.

My Dad has his on a croissant. Cause he's fancier than I am.

There were lots of bees busy facilitating that pollination business and getting all up in there.

Bzzz bzzzz bzzzzz! Bzz.

Flowers + Sun + Bee = Nifty

Victoria’s Chinatown is the oldest in Canada and the second oldest in North America after San Francisco’s. It’s nifty! Check it out when you’re in the area. Oh and here’s what the full gate looks like. (With bonus feature: Phillips Beer Car! The brewery is a bit further down the street and is one of my favourites!)

now with more Phillips Beer car!

There ya go. And what’s next? Well…. how about some long exposure night photography at a couple beaches around the Saanich Peninsula?! I hope it sounds good. Cause that totally happened.
